Hi Judy- I met Jascha in college- sometime in 1993. He and Aria used to drive up to see Rachel when I lived with her and MSU. Wow, how he impacted me. I just have to say Jascha was one of the most amazing humans that I ever came across. He had such charm, charisma, and class. I remember him specifically as being the happiest person. I used to say he and Rachel were the most down to earth, the happiest, and nicest individuals I had ever met- it all made sense why they were so close.

I think that if you were to ask what I remembered most about Jascha other than being so happy and so nice, was that he was everyone's best friend.  Everyone knew Jascha and everyone used to brag about knowing Jascha. He used to light up the room when he came in the door. I realize you hear about these type of descriptions all the time in memory of someone- but, I really feel NO ONE held these descriptions as close as Jascha. It is evident with the consistency of EVERYONE stating them. You raised an amazing individual.

I think the reason so many females were attracted to him was not only his looks (which he DID have) but his personality. He always knew how to make someone feel special and just--plain and simple-- feel good. I never heard him be negative- he was ALWAYS positive. I don't think you could measure the love, nor the impact, Jascha had on Rachel's life. Rachel, I know, loved him like a brother. I am still shocked they didn't end up in matrimony. He and Rachel had such a unique relationship, better than most brother and sister relationships. He made Rachel happy. Not to mention that they are identical in personalities. I really could go on and on.

I knew Jascha fairly well, although, not as well as Rachel, Jonah, Gina Leo, Sue Cho...etc.- but he always made feel I knew him just as well and just as special. I still think of him everyday. I just had a conversation with another friend of Jascha's- Amy Frenkel. We were talking about him and when will it be when we all come to peace with it all. I hold dear, dear memories and still feel the pain like I did last fall. My boyfriend also knew him as a kid. Chris used to go to Michigania every summer and was a big tennis player too. Chris got to know him through tennis and also through a mutual crush (ha ha)-- of course, Jascha won the girl. He was a dynamic person. I know I speak for 100% of the individuals that had the blessing to know Jascha Gelman. He was just an amazing person.
