          Dear
          Gelman Family,

          One of
my first memories of The University of Michigan, before I was even a
student there, was meeting Jascha at a party.  I thought to
myself, if this is how all the boys are at this school, I'm certainly
going to like it here.  I was lucky enough to get to know Jascha
as more than just the great looking guy I spotted in a crowd.
Jascha was a truly unique person with an ever present smile and
boundless energy.  He was a face I always expected to see on my
trips home to Detroit (I now live in California) and in many ways, I
          still do.

          I have
thought about Jascha and your family often in the past months and
am grateful to have a place to express my deepest sympathies and the
true regret that I didn't get the chance to know him better.
Please find comfort in knowing that you raised a  remarkable
individual, one that made an indelible impression on those fortunate
          enough to cross his path.

          My
thoughts and warmest regards are with you all.

          Pam
          Meklir
